My Type

On Reddit the other day (in the Gaybros or AskGaybros  sub)  someone posted a question asking guys to describe what type of of guy they're into. 

It seems a lot of guys have a definite type that most grabs their eyes. I'm not sure I do. It's easier for me to nail down what I don't like, that's overly groomed and/or ripped guys. Most “big” studio gay porn models fit that category. Even if a guy has an amazing face I can't get into a a waxed and buffed Ken doll body.

I like tall big chested guys and little guys with small chests, I like tall geeky guys and short guys with solid builds, I like classically good looking guys and guys with big ears and not much chin, I like bearded guys and clean shaven guys, and so on.

The one thing I definitely like the most is a guy who just seems like a guy, an ordinary guy who maybe doesn't have any distinguishing feature that would get him noticed. A guy who almost looks like a cartoon drawings of a generic male.

That sort of guy is popular in TV ads as he comes off as the everyman. There are a lot of TV ads I've rewound and freeze framed on just to admire some guy who was probably cast for his not particularly noticeable looks.

My one other type that will turn my head every time are guys who are shorter than me. This is in no way a dominance  thing or a desire to appear taller (I'm around 5'11 and in boots stand over 6'). Nor is it because I find short guys to be diminutive. But for whatever reason short guys really turn me on. 

It's something I almost feel weird about, as if it's a fetish. But I know it's no more a fetish than the fact that I like brown eyes more than blue eyes.

Still, were I ever in a dating situation and hit it off with a short guy I don't know if Id ever mention his height as being something that caught my eye. And, assuming this relationship would be that dream one where we both want to learn everything about each other, I'd probably delete this post.

And speaking of relationships...If I was in a mutual falling for each other situation, what the other guy looked like wouldn't matter to me much. Yeah, one usually initially notices someone's looks or appearance. But I can be, and have been, attracted guys after I've had a conversation with them, guys who I didn't initially notice. 

So I guess my type has nothing to do with physical traits. That's a good way to be, especially if I somehow happen to be someone else's type.
